The Maine Film Association invites filmmakers from across the state to participate in the 2023 MFA Winter Film Challenge, presented by p3! This second annual weekend-long filmmaking celebration provides a platform for Maine filmmakers to challenge themselves creatively and showcase their skills and talent. 25 Teams will have 72 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film. All events associated with the competition will accommodate in-person and virtual attendees through a hybrid format, enabling interested creatives from Fort Kent to Kittery to participate and make a film in their hometowns.

Brave the winter chill, assemble your film team, and rise to the challenge for a chance to win cash prizes!

Team registration launches on Thursday, December 15, at 8 pm! In order to present a fun and engaging experience for all teams and premiere attendees, the 2023 MFA Winter Film Challenge is limited to 25 teams. At the Challenge kickoff on March 2, teams will draw their genre in the order in which they register– register early to claim your spot! Once registration fills up, we will maintain a waitlist via Eventbrite.
