UPCOMING SCREENINGS & FESTIVALS

August 2-5: MIFF in the Mountains in Rangeley
If you missed MIFF in Waterville in July, there’s still an opportunity to catch some of the films they screened at the RFA Lakeside Theater in Rangeley August 2-5. August 14: MIKE WALLACE IS HERE in Camden
CIFF Selects brings another stellar film to audiences outside of its September festival. “MIKE WALLACE IS HERE offers an unflinching look at the legendary reporter, who interrogated the 20th century’s biggest figures in his over fifty years on air, and his aggressive reporting style and showmanship that redefined what America came to expect from broadcasters. Unearthing decades of never-before-seen footage from the 60 Minutes vault, the film explores what drove and plagued Wallace, whose storied career was entwined with the evolution of journalism itself.” Catch the film at the Camden Opera house on Wednesday, August 14. More information and tickets here.

August 16-22: MIDSOMMAR in Brunswick
As part of its Independent Film Series, Frontier Cafe will host five screenings of MIDSOMMAR this August. “From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.” Tickets, a chilling trailer, and details are here.

August 17: DEAD RIVER ROUGH CUT in The Forks
The Maine Outdoor Film Festival and Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting present a free and open-to-the-public outdoor screening of the cult classic DEAD RIVER ROUGH CUT in the very region of Maine where the movie was filmed. Join them in The Forks at Three Rivers Whitewater on Rte 201.
Filmmakers Stu Silverstein and/or Richard Searls will be present at the film for a post screening Q & A. More information here.
