The Maine Film Association’s 2019 Fully Resolve’d workshop is dedicated entirely to DaVinci Resolve. We are pleased to launch this educational opportunity in partnership with Neil Shelley, a DaVinci Resolve Certified Expert Trainer, and with the Maine College of Art (MECA).

Drawn from the Blackmagic Design 3-day Certified Training, Fully Resolve’d is a comprehensive one-day introduction to DaVinci Resolve. The class covers the technical and creative tools contained within the software package. These include the MEDIA page, the CUT page, the EDIT page, the FUSION page, the COLOR page, the FAIRLIGHT page, and the DELIVER page. The Fully Resolve’d workshop will introduce and walk through the essential aspects and rudimentary applications involved in the use of each of these pages.

The day starts with an overview of image and sound acquisition including image control, audio capture, and file organization, followed by a general discussion of proper labeling, bin organization, and timeline creation. Technical terms such as frame rate, resolution, codec, and LOG will be discussed. The primary focus of the workshop will be on understanding and using the basic editorial tools and techniques in Resolve.

The Fully Resolve’d Workshop is designed for beginners as a comprehensive introduction, however, for the class to move along smoothly and for participants to fully benefit from this workshop, we ask that you explore the software prior to class and have a basic understanding and some experience using Resolve. Click here to access the FREE Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Download.

Although Fusion FX and Fairlight sound design and mixing are crucial factors and absolutely integrated into Davinci Resolve, the Fully Resolve’d workshop will focus on media import, media management,  picture editing, color grading, and delivery of media. Future classes will take a deep dive into each of the tools contained in this powerful and diverse software eco-system.

Join us on October 19th for this exciting new MFA workshop introducing the most powerful and comprehensive set of postproduction tools on the market.
