MFA Filmmaker Listening Forum & Networking Happy Hour

Saturday, January 19, 2019, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Portland Media Center, 516 Congress Street, Portland

As Maine's leading coalition of Maine film industry professionals, we are here to serve you. The MFA invites members of the filmmaking community to attend a world café-style listening forum to gather input from those in the field about the issues facing the filmmakers and film professionals in Maine.

Through recent surveys, we've heard from many of you that better tax incentives  would draw larger production companies to film in Maine, that encouraging students to pursue film and working with universities is important, and encouraging more diversity in the field is key. What else?

Let us know what endeavors, programs, and advocacy initiatives could help your day-to-day work as a filmmaker by participating in this world café-style forum. We'll facilitate a series of small-group discussions, spurred by various prompts, and rotate groups every 2-3 prompts in order for  participants to hear from as many of their fellow filmmakers as possible.

Join us to share your ideas and connect with fellow filmmakers in Maine.

The first 40 attendees to arrive will receive a ticket for a free beer during the networking happy hour!

2–3:30pm: MFA Filmmaker Listening Forum
